List pallets by construction, not just by material
Photograph the underside to show the support points, pallet feet and fork openings. Two pallets made from the same material may have different construction. Record the actual dimensions, the combined weight of the load and pallet, and the required pickup direction; do not group everything under “standard pallet”.
Separate frequently used samples from pallets received from customers or suppliers that appear only occasionally. Rare samples still require checking if they will be handled by the same forklift. If no sample pallet is available, request a drawing and mark the site condition as not yet verified.
Sample pallet comparison table
| Characteristic | Information to provide | Reason for checking |
|---|---|---|
| Fork-entry direction | Photos of the pallet underside and sides | Do not assume every direction is usable |
| Fork openings | Height, width and spacing | Compare the cross-section and fork positions |
| Pallet / load length | Dimensions and load overhang | Check support points and load center |
| Pallet condition | Photos of cracks, deformation and joints | Reject unsuitable samples according to the procedure |
| Route and rack level | Placement direction, height and aisle | Check both pickup and placement operations |
Use this checklist to prepare information and compare proposals. Operating specifications must be confirmed for the exact model and configuration against the manufacturer's instructions.
Compare the forks with the entry openings and load support
Fork length, width, thickness and adjustment range all affect how a load is lifted. Fitting into the opening does not prove that the forks support the load correctly. Long overhangs, uneven packing or dedicated support points must be assessed by a qualified person together with the load supplier's documentation.
Do not weld, cut or extend the forks without approval to fit a pallet. Fork extensions and modifications require approval, compatibility documentation and an assessment of their effect on capacity. Do not treat the added length as an authorized operating configuration without supporting documentation.
Check the load center for overhanging or off-center loads
Total weight is only one part of the record. The center-of-gravity position, load length along the forks and lift height also affect permitted capacity. Do not treat the capacity in a model name as the allowable load for a long load or a configuration with an additional attachment.
Send photos showing how the load is arranged and describe where the heavy portion is concentrated, if known. If the center of gravity is unknown, state this so the consultant can request confirmation. The article choosing forklift capacity explains why the configuration must be checked at the working height.
Test both picking up the load and placing it at the destination
A sample may be lifted from the floor yet still be difficult to place into the rack in the intended direction. Compare the clearance, rack support points and the path for withdrawing the forks. If pallets are handled from multiple directions, the acceptance record should show each operation approved by the site.
Test only after the configuration and safety plan have been confirmed. Do not treat a single trial lift as proof for every load. Record the type of goods, load, pallet, operating direction, height and the person who confirmed the result.
Submit exception samples so the quotation covers the correct scope
When requesting forklift rental, include a list of pallet types and their relative frequency. If an attachment is required, request a quotation that separates the configuration and capacity documentation. Do not assume that long forks, double forks or a clamping device are included in the standard configuration starting from VND 7,500,000.
The warehouse should also have a procedure for unsuitable pallets and identify who decides when a new load differs from the approved sample. Adding a pallet type during the rental period is a change that must be assessed before the forklift is used for the new task.
Rental terms and configuration-based quotations
ACE C&T rents out 100% new Hangcha forklifts with a minimum contract term of 12 months. Prices from VND 7,500,000 per truck per month apply to standard configurations, as confirmed on 07/10/2026; the model, operating hours, VAT, round-trip transport and maintenance scope are confirmed separately in the quotation. Do not treat the starting price as the rate for every configuration.
Submit a request to confirm the configuration and cost scope before approving the proposal.
Frequently asked questions
Is a forklift capacity higher than the pallet weight all that is needed?
No. Check the load center, lift height, support method, forks and the permitted capacity of the specific configuration.
Does a non-standard pallet necessarily require a different forklift?
Not necessarily. The configuration, an approved attachment or the way the load is arranged may need to change; inspect the sample and documentation first.
Can the forks be extended without approval to handle long loads?
Do not modify the forks or install an attachment without compatibility confirmation and the required approval. Ask the supplier and the responsible technical person to review the proposed solution.
