Confirm the terms for your equipment

The periods below provide a reference when discussing warranty before buying or renting a forklift. Actual duration, start date, operating-hour limits, covered components and charges must be confirmed against the model, serial number, warranty certificate and contract. Where both time and operating-hour limits apply, the earlier limit governs if specified in the equipment documents.

Reference warranty periods

Battery warranty does not cover the entire truck. Lithium terms vary by battery series, market, date and usage conditions. A ten-year warranty must not be assumed for every truck.

Coverage and conditions

Covered faults

Material or manufacturing defects are inspected before eligibility is confirmed. Eligible repairs or replacements, parts and labour follow the warranty documents. Replacement parts remain subject to the equipment’s warranty terms; replacement does not automatically restart the full warranty period.

Wear and routine maintenance

Wear items such as tyres, wipers, filters, belts, carbon brushes, bulbs, fuses, seals and hoses must be assessed against the cause of failure. Fuel, lubricants, cleaning, inspections and scheduled maintenance are normally operating costs unless included in the contract.

Correct use and authorised repairs

Damage caused by accidents, misuse, overload, unsuitable storage, missed maintenance or unauthorised structural changes may be excluded. Obtain written confirmation from the supplier before repairs or fitting an attachment.

Parts and additional costs

Use specified parts and retain maintenance records. Other parts must be assessed against the warranty terms and cause of failure, rather than automatically cancelling the entire warranty. Transport, travel, replacement equipment and downtime costs require clear agreement.

Reporting and service process

Forklift warranty process: report a fault, verify records, carry out technical work, test and sign off.
Four-step process illustration prepared by ACE C&T. Inspection schedules and remedies are confirmed against the equipment documents.
  1. Report the fault

Contact the supplier with the model, serial number, operating hours, location and fault description, including photos or video. If safety is affected, stop using the truck and secure the area according to the operating instructions.

  2. Verify the information

Technical staff check the warranty certificate, delivery date, maintenance history and equipment condition. The assessment should establish whether the fault is covered or requires a chargeable service.

  3. Inspect and resolve

Agree on an on-site inspection or workshop visit, repair plan and required parts. A 48-working-hour attendance target or three inspection visits applies only if written into the contract; neither is a blanket commitment for all locations.

  4. Test and sign off

The technician and customer representative check the relevant functions after repair, document the work and replaced parts, and agree on follow-up monitoring. Retain the records for future maintenance.

Information to send with a fault report

  • Truck model, serial/chassis number and current operating hours.
  • Delivery date, warranty certificate or purchase/rental contract reference.
  • Symptoms, fault codes, timing and operating conditions when the fault occurs.
  • Photos/video, maintenance history, site address and on-site contact.

Buying and renting: confirm the service scope

When buying a Hangcha forklift, confirm separate terms for the truck, battery, charger and attachments. For rentals, maintenance responsibilities, fault response, consumables and replacement-truck arrangements follow the rental contract. ACE C&T advises on forklift sales and rental; send your model or contract reference to confirm the appropriate service.
