Long-term forklift rental for factories: planning for 12 months or more

1. Separate baseline and peak demand

List receiving, material supply, racking and dispatch tasks. Record peak times, travel distances and waiting time for each. Daily pallet totals alone do not establish fleet size when tasks overlap within the same hours.

Identify the fleet for stable work, then discuss changes in output. For new factories, flag assumptions without data and agree how to reassess them after trial operation.

2. Align delivery with project milestones

Schedule truck delivery around completion of floors, racks, routes and energy-supply areas. For phased deliveries, list configurations, quantities and receiving contacts for each phase.

For example, raw-material and finished-goods warehouses may open on different dates. Separate delivery milestones clarify truck assignments, but rental commencement and schedule-change terms must be confirmed.

3. Plan maintenance and usage reporting

Agree how meter hours are recorded, who compiles reports, fault contacts and maintenance windows. If operations depend on backup trucks, specify supply responsibility and conditions for activating them.

At each review, examine running hours, downtime, waiting causes and utilisation by truck. This helps adjust the fleet based on evidence instead of increasing annual fleet size after a brief shortage.

4. Clarify changes and the end of the rental term

• How are fleet increases or reductions requested and handled?
• Can location, shifts or attachments be changed?
• How are extensions, early returns and collection agreed?
• How are batteries, chargers, accessories and truck condition checked on return?
