Compare both options against the same requirements
First establish throughput per shift, actual load, lift height and travel distance. Both trucks must handle the same workload; a cheaper truck unable to lift the load to the highest rack does not provide a meaningful comparison.
Agree on operating hours too. Factory opening hours differ from actual truck running hours. Record meter hours or measure during trials so energy estimates do not rely on overly broad assumptions.

Total-cost and break-even calculations
Electricity and fuel
Electricity cost = energy measured at the charger's supply × the actual electricity tariff; measuring at the supply includes charging losses. Diesel cost = actual litres consumed × actual purchase price. Do not convert battery capacity into a shift's cost without knowing usage.
Compare the monthly difference
For each option, add rent, energy, maintenance outside the package and agreed support costs. If electric rental is higher but energy is cheaper, energy savings must offset the extra rent and other additional charges.
As a calculation method, if electric rent is ΔM VND/month higher and measured operating savings favour electric by S VND/hour, the balancing point is ΔM/S hours per month, provided S is positive. This checks a scenario; it does not establish which option is cheaper at your warehouse.
What to check for indoor warehouses and outdoor yards
Electric forklifts have no tailpipe emissions while operating and are often worth considering for food warehouses or enclosed spaces. Selection must still meet the site's ventilation, hygiene, floor-loading and safety requirements. Charging areas must comply with the equipment instructions.
For outdoor work, assess ground surfaces, slopes, weather and travel distances. Diesel and lithium ranges offer different configurations; neither all electric trucks are indoor-only nor all diesel trucks suitable for every terrain. Confirm suitability for the exact model.
Include downtime and accompanying services
Link charging to breaks and shift changes. For diesel, define refuelling points and fuel-management procedures. Both options need maintenance schedules that avoid disrupting dispatch periods.

Technical support SLA and handover plan
Agree in writing on fault-reporting contacts, service hours, response times, site attendance and arrangements during downtime. Response time is different from repair completion time; record both so the warehouse can plan goods movements.
