Why do forklifts with the same capacity have different rental rates?

Two forklifts rated at 3 tonnes may have different masts, lowered heights, battery capacities, sideshifters or clamps. These differences determine whether they can pass through your doors, complete a shift and handle your goods. The range name and nominal capacity alone are not enough to set a rental rate.

Describe the heaviest load including its pallet, load dimensions, placement height and actual operating hours. For a new factory, include trial-run and production start dates so delivery can be planned in stages.

Technical specifications to check

Specifications are from ACE C&T's current catalogue and are reference configurations, not confirmation of depot stock. Permitted capacity at working height must follow the actual truck's load chart, load centre and attachment.

Which costs should your budget separate?

Base rental: state VND per truck per month, fleet size, term and operating-hour limits. Check whether the battery, charger and attachments are included. Compare rates only for configurations that meet the same operational requirement.

Deployment costs: separate delivery, collection, loading/unloading and charging-point preparation. Tell the supplier in advance about vehicle access registration and delivery-hour restrictions so transport can be planned.

Operating costs: track electricity or fuel, operator labour and excess-hour charges separately. Maintenance terms should define work, consumables, payment responsibilities and exclusions. VAT must be clearly stated in the quotation.

Understanding monthly and yearly pricing

Monthly rates in a long-term contract

ACE C&T accepts rental terms from 12 months. Here, “monthly rental” describes the rate and billing period; it does not mean a truck can be returned after one month on the same terms.

Preparing an annual budget

If monthly rent is M and stays unchanged for 12 months, annual base rent is 12 × M × number of trucks. Add agreed charges outside the package. Keep a conditionally refundable deposit in a separate cash-flow schedule rather than treating it as an expense already incurred.

Details to send for a more accurate quotation

Purchasing should send one consistent brief: goods, load weight and dimensions, rack height, aisle width, doorway height, floor type, shifts, location, fleet size and required delivery date. Aisle photos and warehouse layouts help avoid unsuitable configurations.

Technical support SLA and handover plan

Agree in writing on fault-reporting contacts, service hours, response times, site attendance and arrangements during downtime. Response time is different from repair completion time; record both so the warehouse can plan goods movements.
