Request a quotation by model, capacity, mast and battery system; do not merely state “3-ton electric forklift.” Electric describes the power category, while lithium is a battery type. Therefore, two quotations for electric forklifts can differ in battery, charger and the ability to arrange charging between shifts.

Four costs to separate from the monthly rental rate
Battery, charger and electrical supply infrastructure
The quotation should confirm whether the battery and charger are included in the rental fee, who prepares the power connection, the cable-route length and the charging parking location. The business should provide power-supply details so the supplier can check them against the actual equipment.
Electricity consumption and operating hours
Monthly electricity cost can be calculated from energy measured at the charger input multiplied by the electricity tariff applicable to the factory. This method also reflects charging losses; do not treat nominal battery capacity multiplied by the number of shifts as an exact electricity bill.
Operating hours beyond the package and out-of-scope work
Require the quotation to state how operating hours are measured, the meter-reading period, the overtime rate and how truck downtime is treated. Repairs, wear items and damage caused by use need separate responsibility provisions.
Budgeting for single-shift and multi-shift warehouses
A single-shift warehouse should describe the truck's actual working time during the shift, the number of lift cycles and travel distance. A multi-shift warehouse should also state available charging breaks, peak periods and the number of trucks that must work simultaneously. Production-shift hours are not the same as truck operating hours.
Use this tracking formula: total monthly cost = rental fee + measured electricity + labour + agreed out-of-package charges. Delivery and collection charges can be allocated across the rental term for budget comparison, but the actual payment schedule must still follow the contract.
Information to provide for an accurate quotation
Provide the type of goods, weight including the pallet, rack height, aisle width, door height, floor conditions, expected operating hours and number of trucks. For cold stores or areas with special hygiene requirements, specify the temperature and working conditions so a suitable configuration can be selected; do not assume that every electric forklift is suitable.
